چکیده

Electromagnetic-actuated robotic systems have been studied recently for special purposes. Because these systems use external magnetic fields to control their robots, the robots can have simple structures and move with much freedom. In particular, these electromagnetic actuation (EMA) systems are being widely adopted for the actuation of biomedical mini-robots and microrobots for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and diagnosis. We previously reported, as a feasible biomedical robot, the biomimetic swimming tadpole mini-robot, which can only swim above water. Indeed, the twodimensional (D) plane swimming tadpole mini-robot is limited in its use because of its motility in the 2D plane. Therefore, this paper proposes a 3D swimming tadpole mini-robot that can move freely in water. First, in the proposed 3D swimming tadpole mini-robot, the buoyancy force was regulated for subaqueous swimming, and the permanent magnet was rearranged for precise movement. Second, to attain a 3D swimming motion, the actuation mechanism of the robot was developed using an EMA system. Finally, various experiments verified that the proposed 3D swimming tadpole mini-robot can swim freely in a 3D water environment.

Three-Dimensional Electromagnetic Actuation System for Intravascular Locomotive Microrobot

Various types of actuation methods for intravascular locomotive microrobot have been proposed and demonstrated. Among the actuation methods, electromagnetic based actuation (EMA) was considered as a promising mechanism. In generally, planar EMA systems for 2 dimensional movement of the microrobot were proposed and demonstrated. In this paper, we present 3 dimensional (D) EMA systems for the 3D ...

Magnetic fish-robot based on multi-motion control of a flexible magnetic actuator.

This paper presents a biologically inspired fish-robot driven by a single flexible magnetic actuator with a rotating magnetic field in a three-axis Helmholtz coil. Generally, magnetic fish-robots are powered by alternating and gradient magnetic fields, which provide a single motion such as bending the fish-robot's fins. On the other hand, a flexible magnetic actuator driven by an external rotat...

Reconstructing human push recovery reactions using a three dimensional under-actuated bipedal robot

This paper presents the ability of hybrid zero dynamics (HZD) feedback control method to reproduce human like movements for walking push recovery of an under-actuated 3D biped model. The balance recovery controller is implemented on a three-dimensional under-actuated bipedal model subjected to a push disturbance. The biped robot model is considered as a hybrid system with eight degrees of freed...

Use of three-dimensional ultrasonography of the eye and measurement of optical long axis in dog

This study was conducted to determine the use of three-dimensional ultrasonography (3DU) in ocular imaging of the dog and measuring of its optical axis. 12 healthy mixed-breed dogs including 6 males and 6 females were studied. 3DU of the eyes were done using a 5–12 MHz linear trapezoid transducer. 3DU of the eyes were evaluated and the normal optical long axis through a line between the cornea ...
